If so, then I want to tell you aboutour singing circle, Sanctuary of Song.
Sanctuary of Song is a supportive space for singers at all levels of confidence and ability. We explore singing as a self-care practice, not unlike meditation or Yoga.
Join us to sing heart-opening songs in community - songs that are so beautiful, you won't believe how easy they are to learn.
You can join us either in person in the San Francisco Bay Area, or online, from anywhere in the world.
You don't need to know how to read music - songs are taught by ear.
Join us, and find out how nourishing it can be to sing together for the love of it!
How to Join Us
Until it feels safe to meet indoors again, we'll hold a drop in singing circle weekly. Once indoor meetings become possible, we will resume our weekly meeting format.
Sundays, 3:30 - 5 PM, 4/24, 5/15
WHERE: We'll sing outdoors in the beautiful garden of a private residence in Pacifica, California, a ten to fifteen minute drive from SF's southern neighborhoods. (You'll get the address when you register.)
WHO IT'S FOR: We sing for Mother Earth, and welcome all those who feel a resonance with Earth wisdom in these times. LGTBQIA+ and BIPOC folks warmly welcome. This space is trans affirming.
COVID SAFETY: To attend this gathering, you must be fully vaccinated against COVID 19. We'll meet outdoors, masks required. We'll also ask that participants fill out a brief health questionnaire morning of our gathering to ensure no known COVID exposure.
If you're unable to join us in person for any reason, we welcome you to join us instead:
This group brings such joy and richness to my life. I love the diversity, beauty, and magic of the music as well as the sisterhood experience. I’m so grateful for what this experience brings to my life!
What We Do
Sing! After warming up our voices and bodies with toning and movement exercises, we'll move onto songs, learning, rounds, chants and part songs in two and three part harmony.
Share and hold space for each other. To help us get to know one another, a few minutes of our meeting are devoted to small group discussion. In groups of three, we'll engage heart opening questions, with time limits employed, ensuring that each person has equal time to speak, or to enjoy the silence, as you prefer.
Nurture community. See old friends, and make new ones in this warm, intergenerational space.
Call in joy! Enjoy that special feeling of aliveness and connection that singing together brings!
Beautiful heart warming experience I was looking for weekly! Noe’s leading is so gentle and thoughtful. The singing circle made me feel connected to community especially in this isolated times.
How We Approach Singing
Our group is rooted in the belief that everyone can sing.
There's a saying from Zimbabwe "If you can walk, you can dance. If you can talk you can sing."
You know what? It's true! And if you've lost touch with the truth of this statement, I hope our gathering will help you know it in your bones.
To join us, you need only two things - a love of singing, and an open heart.
Our circle is supportive, encouraging, and a whole lot of fun!
Learn beautiful, nourishing songs. Songs to keep in your pocket and carry with you for a lifetime!
Develop greater confidence and ease with singing.
Connect with an intergenerational community of beautiful and inspiring souls!
Weekly immersion in a virtual sanctuary to renew and inspire.
Sanctuary of Song is a masterfully and lovingly crafted soul journey to a deeper self-connection, self-acceptance, and connection. I have never experienced such a balanced, creative, and thoughtful weaving of one person's multiple gifts, singing, story-telling, community building, and meditative practices. It is a very rich one-life kind of experience that I highly recommend to anyone who is a seeker, adventurer, and creator.
About the Songs
We sing beautiful, easy to learn songs from a variety of sources, passed on aurally from beloved fellow songleaders near and far. Some of the traditions we explore are hypnotic sacred rounds and chants, world folk songs with gorgeous, three part harmonies, and uplifting modern circle songs.
Noe leads a grounded, enlivening, spiritual practice of singing, walking, sharing, (at times) crying, and (more often) laughing. We are gifted with a leader who is deeply committed to holding space for people to come together and connect, express, and be at ease. Come and join us if you are ready for your heart to open and your voice to carry. This is an experience that is rare in our world today that is now so often challenged by busy-ness, upheaval, quarantine, and change. May it continue to strengthen us!
